Being a diplomat is a good way to hear and consider many points of view and various possible solutions, but without the option to please everyone in the end. I'd like to please everyone -- really -- but ... well ..... that is not usually one of the options available. So that calls for listening, consideration of all sides, gathering hard data, and arriving at the best answer available. I've had a good amount of practice doing this -- which would be an important skill as a CSM member.
Among other space jobs, I've also been a rental manager for many years, as well as logistics team manager. Understanding player needs and delivering good customer service so that players are willing to spend hard-earned ISK on the service -- that is a good skill to have too.
