Hardware and Software Upgrades on Tuesday, 31 July from 0400 to 1200 GMT and Thursday, 2 August

On Tuesday, 31 July, Tranquility will experience an extended downtime period from 0400 through 1200 GMT. During this time, we will upgrade our database to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2. At the same time, we will replace all of our database hardware. On Thursday, 2 August, we will expand our solid state storage to 256 GB by adding another RAMSAN unit.

Hardware and Software Upgrades postponed until Thursday, 2 August from 0400 to 1200 GMT

The previously announced downtime for software and hardware upgrades on Tuesday, 31 July, has been postponed until Thursday, 2 August. The downtime will be from 04.00 to 12.00 GMT as announced, so same time but different day. As you know, if you read the previous announcement, the downtime is to upgrade our database to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2 and replace all of our database hardware.

Holoreel actors walk off set in mass protest

PERTNINEERE - The set of Impetus's latest epic war movie, The Trials of Shintah, has descended into turmoil after the majority of the cast walked off set, refusing to work. The strike is unprecedented in the holo-vid industry, and in Impetus itself, and threatens to cost the company billions of ISK in revenue if production continues to be delayed.

Server downage today the 23rd

Independent Gaming Commission to host Alliance Tournament

Woratome Kikawa, Chief Executor of the newly-founded Independent Gaming Commission last week announced that the Commission will officially take over handling of capsuleer alliance tournaments. ´I'm happy to announce that the Tournament will continue, but it is not longer strictly tied to one empire.

Vigil for Doriam II disrupted.

What was designed to be a day of mourning for the Amarrian empire became a day of conflict and loss, as enemies of the loyalists attacked a vigil gathered to honor the life and service of the late Emperor Doriam II. It was two years ago when the Amarrian Emperor was assassinated by unknown parties.

Stackless Python Upgrade and Revelations 2.1 Patch Deployment on Tues, 24 July from 0930-1200 GMT

Tranquility will undergo an extended downtime on Tuesday, 24 July. The start time is 0930 GMT and the length of the downtime is expected to be 2.5 hours. During this time, a patch will be applied to Revelations consisting of enhancements, fixes and improvements, including additional Need for Speed updates based upon an upgrade of EVE Online's programming language, Stackless Python, from version 2.3 to version 2.5. Patch Notes are now available for review.

Singularity Stress Test this weekend

This weekend we will have stress tests on Singularity during the normal Tranquility Downtime, 11.00-12.00 GMT. We would like to ask everyone who are able to log in to Singularity on both Saturday, 21 July and Sunday, 22 July. This is a simple stress test, to make it a bit fun we will have Devs in FD-MLJ during this time, so you'll have something to kill.

Loan Contract scams are not allowed!

It has come to our attention that there are phishing emails in circulation. These emails claims to be from a CCP account admin and tells you that you are suspected of EULA violations and requests various personal and account information. Keep in mind that CCP will never ask for your password!

Unfortunate Casualties A logistics blunder resulted in an unfortunate friendly fire incident on July 10th, as Lieutenant Xianjo, a proud member of the Caldari Navy, was attacked by accident. At around 01:00 EVT, Xianjo was attacked by Brotherhood of Freedom pilots. The lieutenant sent out a distress call over local communications channels, of which members of the Beets and Gravy Syndicate responded. Order and safety restored to Caldari cities.

The past several weeks have been witness to riots and bloodshed within several Caldari cities due to the actions of a CEP-classified “terrorist group” known as the Brothers of Freedom. Disillusioned citizens have taken to the streets, often in violent confrontations with the authorities. Lead by Melarius Torvil, the Brothers of Freedom claims to be working towards the “restoration of the Caldari people and the Caldari ideal”.

Unusual hobby sweeps backwater Amarr system

NAHOL - An unusual hobby has taken the small, backwater Amarr system of Nahol by storm; Thousands of Amarrians have begun growing sweet pod melons. Everyone, from young children to even a few Holders have begun growing the melons and competing each other to see who can grow the largest melons in the fastest period of time. The sweet pod melon is a native of the lush jungles of Intaki Prime.

Intaki Bank secures funding for Syndicate R&D program

POITOT, SYNDICATE – The Intaki Bank has secured funding for an extensive interstellar R&D program, its spokesman revealed during a delayed Quarterly Reports meeting today. Another Testing Event - Tuesday, 10 July at 11.00 to 12.00 GMT
