Bloodlines Deployment and the Power of 2 Offer

The Bloodlines patch deployment will take place on Thursday, 2 March at 1100 GMT. We are estimating a 4 hour deployment time, Tranquility should return with the new content by 1500 GMT. As always, we recommend training a long-duration skill. Patch Notes have been recently updated with some new items that were added over the weekend.

Devs attending the Las Vegas Player Gathering

Tranquility Returned at 0019 GMT, EVE is reborn

The Hardware Upgrade has been completed, Tranquility has returned with 70 dual-core, dual-CPU AMD Opteron LS20 Blades in 5 new IBM Blade Center Chassis. A small patch is necessary to connect to the new hardware.

Sharhelund disaster caused by freak accident

The investigation into the crash on Sharhelund III has made its conclusions public earlier today. The release of the deadly plague virus on Sharhelund III was caused by a crash between a battleship carrying the virus and a shuttle in orbit of the planet. Obbet Rember from the Republic Justice Department states that the Restless Spirit was a rebuild battleship and that this played a large part in the “freak” accident.

Reschard V Relief Convoy Destroyed

Late Wednesday evening a relief convoy comprised of heavy cargo vessels of The Servant Sisters of EVE, en route to the Reschard disaster, was destroyed by a powersurge after surviving an attack by IRON. Earlier that evening another freighter had technical diffeculties which prevented it from joining the transport according to the Sisters.

Extended Downtime Tuesday the 21st 08:00-08:00 GMT for New Tranquility

That's right, this is the day we've all been waiting for. It's time to go live with the new cluster. This Tuesday, in a 24 hour extended downtime, old Tranquility hardware is replaced with 70 new IBM 64-bit AMD dual processor blade servers. This operation should double, if not triple the performance on our proxy and application layers. This is a very high-risk and extensive upgrade and we suggest you set long skill training, in case anything goes wrong.

Beauvais Bros. strike again.

Late Tuesday evening a pair of Gallente brothers and pirates were cornered and and forced to flee. The brothers decided to go pirate after financial problems. The brothers, Emile and Bertrand Beauvais, who had made a failed attempt at piracy in the Renyn and Grinacanne systems the previous Sunday, entered the Pator system on Tuesday evening with the intention of pirating as many commercial ships as was possible and escaping with whatever valuable cargo would fit in their holds.

Planet-wide explosion strikes Reschard V

PLACID. A planet-wide explosion devastated the surface of Reschard V earlier this morning. The source of the explosion is for the moment unknown. Virus escape after research accident

Chaos erupted on the planet of Sharhelund III, the only inhabited planet in the Sharhelund system, when a research vessel fell out of orbit and burned up in the atmosphere. The ship, the Restless Spirit, is believed to have struck another ship in a low orbit accident, leaving all of its gyroscopic and engine systems wrecked.
