Patch tomorrow

2004-11-30 - By CCP Hellmar

Tomorrow the first mandatory automatic patch to EXODUS will be deployed to Tranquillity.
It is already available as a test patch and Singularity is running version 2.02.3003.

This patch brings some immediate fixing to platform related issues and a slew of other fixes (patch notes will be available soon).

Our focus (a part from fixing critical bugs) has for the most part been on containing the increased CPU usage on the Tranquillity cluster that followed EXODUS (read LAG). On Singularity we have some code modifications which give us opportunity to eliminate some possibilities.

If you have some time today it would help us immensely if you could connect to Singularity and play a bit so that we can see the effect on the CPU.
It's always good to try out dangerous things on Singularity before going head in on TQ (always wanted to raid a lvl10 DC, well now is the time).

If you have the time and inclination to do this the please remember the rules of having a special copy of EVE for all test patches (see instructions on the test patch page)
