Community Spotlight: Fleet Commanders

By CCP Eterne
| Comments

EVE Online is defined by war. Men and women live and breath for these fights, dying (virtual) deaths over and over to achieve some goal. But whether it be massive fleets firing at each other from great distances, bomber wings diving in on a helpless foe, small gangs flying from place to place to take down targets of opportunity, or even taking on Incursions or Sleepers, every fleet needs someone in charge. The people who take up the duty to command these fleets are known as fleet commanders.

Developer Spotlight: Goliath

Making sure the game doesn't break before our expansions or patches is released is important! If we don't do this right, something INSANE might happen, like an important system file accidentally being deleted. Luckily, we have a hard-working Quality Assurance team that hunts down bugs and squashes them before they escape into the wild.

Greetings space pharaohs, Let's talk about job pricing! Older blogs in this series can be found in the archive: Reprocess all the things! - Building better Worlds - Industry UI - Researching, the Future Currently, the amount you usually pay for installing a manufacturing or research job in EVE Online is on the order of tens of thousands of ISK, which is such a small cost that it's not really relevant to most build decisions.

Researching, the Future

By CCP Greyscale
| Comments

Greetings space-labrats, Let's talk about research! Older blogs in this series can be found in the archive. There's two major changes we're making to research: Copying is going to become way shorter, and we're changing how Manufacturing Efficiency (ME) and Production Efficiency (PE) work. Copying The headline here is that, during EVE’s summer 2014 release, we're going to change base copy-time on all blueprints to be the same as base build-time.

Community Spotlight: The EVE Onion

By CCP Eterne

News and propaganda are a vital part of the EVE metagame. Not only are there numerous blogs giving their opinions about the happenings and politics in the game, but also several sites dedicated to delivering news in a journalistic format. It is, as an old meme goes, serious business. But when there are people that take something seriously, there are those that just have to lampoon it.

Building better Worlds

By CCP Ytterbium
| Comments

One of EVE's strongest selling points always has been its player-centered industry; it creates lots of interesting gameplay around resource collection, distribution and transformation. While we have been adding more professions over the years, the core idea of building stuff remains one of the most popular activities available in our game.
