Introduction From massive fleet battles with thousands of pilots to duels between two brave spaceship captains – the EVE Online Universe has it all! Further information about these events, with all the excitement, drama, and triumph or crushing losses, is provided by the EVE community on public killboards. Killboards can help data-mining and might expose behavioral patterns of pilots; they also can give an easy overview of important events and provide a list of top pilots or entities.

Pre-Retribution Trading (Price Indices – November 2012)

By CCP Recurve

Expansions spur trading, both prior to realease and after. The effect of the preparation for Retribution can best be seen in the Mineral Price Index, which rose by 8% from October to November. Nocxium, Isogen and Zydrine prices contributed most to the rise in the MPI. The prices of these three minerals rose by 17%, 20% and 26% respectively. The price of Morphite ros...

Holiday Dev Incursion!

By CCP Unifex
| Comments

The holidays are coming to New Eden again and it's time to spread cheer. Normally, we would allow Sansha Claus to come in his Revenant pulled by 9 Nightmares (one with red spikes) to deliver joy to everyone, but he's still busy locking down random constellations with his whole Incursion shtick, so it falls to someone else to take up the reins. No, we aren't talking about the Thukker Bunny.

It’s been a while since we released a dev blog on the New Eden price indices and the things that affect them. The last dev blog on the subject discussed the effect of the changes in loot drops, the Burn Jita event and Hulkageddon. These had a major impact on the supply and price of minerals and ice. The focus of this blog stays on the price of minerals and ice.

From loan brokers, stock trading and investment banking to more shady activities such as betting, gambling and lotteries – all this emerged from within the EVE community. Lotteries are especially popular and they are easy to understand: buy a ticket and strike it rich! Only one ticket can be enough to win the jackpot, billions and billions, rare or even unique ships; everything seems...

Introducing the Free CCP Developer License and the CREST API Beta Test Period

By CCP Seagull
| Comments

At Fanfest this year, we introduced new technology in our cluster called CREST, that allows us to connect new applications to the EVE cluster in a much more interactive way than the current EVE API. We also announced that we would introduce a Developer License for 3rd party developers for those who want to use CREST in their applications, so that creating apps around EVE would be governed by its own license, not just by the player EULA.
