StacklessIO or: How We Reduced Lag

StacklessIO For the past two years we have been developing new technology, called StacklessIO, to increase the performance of our network communication infrastructure in EVE. This new network layer reduces network latency and improves performance in high-volume situations, e.g., in fleet-fights and market hubs such as Jita. On 16 September we successfully deployed StacklessIO to Tranquility.

First CSM term close to ending, warming up for the second one!

The first CSM was elected into place in May and began its term late that month. The following weeks thereafter were hectic for the elected members due to a very narrow window of opportunity to gather a list of topics to bring to the meeting with the CCP council in Iceland. That feat should not be underestimated.

The Jita Conundrum

A Tale of Two Cities Iceland's capital of Reykjavík is an interesting experience for me. It's big, it's busy and, as a result of being a convenient place to get most anything one needs, it can be a bit expensive; much like any other major metropolis that has over a hundred thousand inhabitants.

EVE API vs. Empyrean Age 1.1

We've added some new services to the EVE API in the Empyrean Age 1.1 patch as well as fixed a few bugs. The additions are part wishlist from the players and part what we think would be useful to enrich 3rd party tools further.
