Bug in the Python engine

We have discovered a bug in the Python engine. It has to do with a debug feature that we turned on in beta to hunt reference leaks. Basically we added #define COUNT_ALLOCS which adds the sys.getobjects function.

Character creation

So glad to see that 36 hour character deletion delay proposal is getting favourable comments. This will both help with accidental character deletion and make exploiter tracking simpler, wading through 10-20 characters is just tedious, although no one gets away with anything in the end. Note that 5 character creations per week and the 36 hour character delay proposal have really the same net effect. Can't see how a normal player needs to create more than ~5 characters per week. PKs in secure areas

Players seem to be using some laxity of CONCORD to actually pod kill players in high security systems. We will add warp scrambling to their arsenal in those systems, and generally make them more efficient.

Local chat channel

Discussed with Davíð about making the local chat channel truely solarsystem wide, i.e. including people within stations as well so that communication doesn't get cut when docking and undocking. The local channel doesn't seem to be used a lot anyway, and private channels can easily bridge whatever use players are making of it right now.

In-game forums

Talked to Hellmar about moving the in-game forums from the news system to the in-game browser, so that the forums can be used in-flight. We would then probably scrap the news facility in-station.

Character creation

Some debate going on whether the number of characters created/deleted per week per user should be limited in some way. This might alleviate some muling issues and semi-exploits related to them, but I am not convinced that these can not be addressed through some more in-game mechanisms.

Community events at Fanfest 2012

The aim of community events at Fanfest is to provide players with non-EVE activities that they can participate in outside of the normal roundtables, presentations and panels.
